Constant companionship and unconditional love. Your beloved pet gives you so much! Honour them with a portrait session all their own.
Pet sessions are half hour sessions that take place in your home or on location. In your home your pet feels comfortable and will be more likely to open up to someone new than if they were in studio. On location shoots are great for dogs, since we all know they love to come with you wherever you’re going!
It’s not necessary for dogs to be masters of obedience training, but without some basic commands like sit and stay, it can be a lot more challenging to manage the dog for a session, especially on location.
How to prepare:
-Exercise your dog! Before the session, walk your dog or play fetch until they can fetch no more. They will be much more easy going and easier to manage for the session.
-Groom your pet. A spa day is always nice, but they really just need to be clean and brushed. We recommend bathing and brushing the day before on most breeds to give the coat and chance to settle and stop shedding. For breeds with hairlike coats you may need to bring along a brush.
-Don’t forget the treats! Most dogs {and some cats} work for food, and even if they don’t, they’ll deserve a treat after this workout!
-Bring any favourite toys that will help engage your pet and get their attention.
