My name is Carrie Robinson. I am wife to a wonderful husband, mommy to beloved twin girls, a teacher in Grand Erie, an online photo retoucher and portrait photographer. Whew!
Creative minds like mine are best kept busy, and I usually have a project (or three) on the go, or at least waiting in the wings. Robin’s Nest Photography was one of those ladies in waiting…I figured it would keep me from driving my husband around the bend in our retirement.
My husband and I have been retouching photos through an online business for over three years. We first learned photo retouching when our girls were born and we weren’t happy with the pictures we were taking. We kind of learned the hard way that it’s much easier to retouch good quality photos than poor quality ones, and our interest in photography flourished. Over the years my skills have grown thanks to research, practice and the desire to capture the beauty I see every day. My family and friends grew tired of being my only models, and so Robin’s Nest Photography was born! I am the principal photographer, and my husband helps out with photo editing, administrative things and, luckily for me, pretty much whatever else I need help with.
I have worked with children since I was a child myself. While other kids had summer jobs at the gas station or the pool, I did childcare until I went to university. I’ve worked with children of all ages and abilities since then. You need to reach kids before you can teach them, and my ability to see the beauty and goodness in each child helps me to capture their personality in portraits.
One final thought…once upon a time I listened to those naysayers who doubted the value of quality portrait photography. They didn’t see the investment of capturing memories in the most beautiful way possible. I will always regret not having quality portraits taken of my own pregnancy and newborn twins; it is such a special time that you can never duplicate. I hope you will choose me to help you capture those memories to cherish forever…I promise you will not regret it!
